Self-motivation is literally the desire to do things. It's the crucial element in setting and attaining goals-and research shows you can influence your own levels of motivation and self-control. So figure out what you want, power through the pain period, and start being who you want to be.

To do or Not to do, That is the Question The desire to do things-to do or not to do-determines your level of success.  What does it take to motivate you?  Do you have the drive and determination to succeed?  Do you believe in yourself and your ability to do whatever it takes to reach your goals?  These questions and your answers to them are crucial elements in attaining your personal success.

Remember when you graduated from high school or college you received inspirational cards, as well as guidance from friends and relatives?  They said things like: "reach for the stars," "follow your dreams,"  "never stop trying," and "you can be anything you want to be."  All of these sentiments are motivational and uplifting.  The purpose was to influence the reader to set high goals and then strive to his utmost to achieve those goals.  Only then, would personal success be achieved.

Goal setting is not only important in order to get what you want, it is absolutely necessary.  Sort of like a roadmap to take you where you want to go.  Once a goal is set, the steps to achieving that goal must be listed.  Put it all down on paper so you can refer back to your game plan as often as you need.  To do or not to do is back again.  Unless you put your goal and plan of action on paper, it may become easier to just forget about taking any action at all.  The road to success is full of bumps and turns, but your belief in your ability to accomplish whatever it takes to attain success will make all the difference.

Motivation is like an apple being dangled just in front of your face.  You can decide to reach out and grab that apple or you can just look at it.  To do or not to do-it's decision time.  Go for it!  Success is your personal responsibility so own it!  Believe that nothing is impossible and nothing will be impossible.

"What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals." -Zig Ziglar

Think about that.  Self-Motivation-to do or not to do-you'll learn and grow regardless of the specific situation.  That's why it's such a fundamental tool for reaching your goals, achieving your dreams, and succeeding in this journey we call life.

So, how self-motivated are you?  Can you achieve even more in your life?  It's all up to you-to do or not to do.
